What is WinSesame :

WinSesame is a security software to password protect folders on hard disk, network, CD, and external drives on Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP, Vista computers.

Protect your data from unauthorized access on your hard disk, Cd-Rom, external drives or for the transfer by Internet of complete and confidential files and folders. Just right click on a folder and choose "Lock with WinSesame". Choose the password, the file is locked. Now the opening of the folder requires the password. The data contained in the locked folder is encrypted by an absolutely unbreakable process and the length of the password is not limited. To close the folder again, it's unnecessary to enter the password because this remains associated with this folder although not readable in the computer. Moreover you can close and lock with only one click all the protected folders you have opened on your computer.

WinSesame works in English, French and Spanish. You can change the language from de Options dialog box.

The free version has no time limitation but the maximum size of the folders you can lock with the free version is limited.

The software can be used immediately on downloading. Activation is automatic.

Description :

1: Right Click on the folder you want to lock and choose Lock with WinSesame.
	2: Enter and confirm the password of your choice to protect this folder (the length is not limited).
3: The icon of the folder is modified to indicate that it is locked. The files contained in this folder are encrypted by an absolutely unbreakable powerful process. The password used does not appear anywhere (lost key system).
	4: To open a protected folder, double click on it and enter the password.
5: You can now work on the files contained in this folder. All the files are accessible.
To close and lock this folder again, proceed as at the first step but it is not necessary to provide the password associated with this folder again. Locking is instantaneous. Moreover you can instantaneously lock all the protected folders open on your computer with a simple click on the WinSesame icon located on your desktop or in the Start menu even if the folders were not protected with the same password.
	The Options dialog box enables you to configure the program according to your preferences.
You can memorize your password if you want to always use the same one for all your locked folders. This password is memorized only for the user profile having recorded it. You can configure the program so that it automatically uses the password memorized. Although not offering the maximum level of protection on the computer, this method can be used if you wish to protect only data on external drives or Cd-Rom or to protect the data from unauthorized access from the network or the other users of the computer. In this case the protected folders open on this computer by the authorized user as normal folders but as long as they are closed they remain locked and encrypted for all the others users of the computer and access by the network. You can choose a channel of encrypting (professional version only). The channel of encrypting is a second encoding in addition to the main encoding by the key which reinforces the level of protection. You can choose a channel from 1 to 99999. The files can be only opened with the password on a computer using the same channel of encrypting as the one used for encoding. (allowing separation of data access authorizations on large company networks). From this dialog box you can also change the language in which the program works.
